15 Days Until the CST! Revising Writing (WS 1.6)

Objective: ASWBAT revise writing for the appropriate use of transitional devices, semicolons, colons, and commas. ASWBAT revise writing for correct use of parallelism and similar grammatical forms.

• Remember that it's your job to ask questions if you don't understand something.
• Skills Assessment #11 / Common Assessment 3 is Thursday and Friday, April 19 and 20, 2012.
• Vocabulary Competition for Quarter 3 is in effect! Don't fall behind! Competition ends Thursday, April 19, 2012.
• The last day to submit any AR Quizzes toward your AR Goal is Friday, April 20, 2012.

1. Complete the Do Now.

2. Track Mr. Herrera as he presents Using Criteria For Success. Follow along and ask questions if you are confused.

3. If you haven't already, finish revising your peer's essay and submit the peer revision online. Then fix anything you need to fix on your own essay according to the revision made by your peer. If you need to fix this on a hard copy, you will need to rewrite a clean version of your paper. If you need to fix this online, simply go into the Google document and make changes.

4. Score your paper according to the Criteria for Success. Be sure to submit your essay online or as a hard copy to Mr. Herrera.
