Day 85: Dr. King and Abraham Lincoln (Internal Consistency)

Objective: ASWBAT write a coherent thesis statement and provide detailed evidence in support of ideas.

1. Watch the clip of Dr. King's I Have a Dream speech delivered on August 28, 1963. Track Mr. Herrera as he presents and models Persuasive Writing. Use this graphic organizer to take notes.

2. Take a look at the Culminating Focus Question. Participate in the discussion as Mr. Herrera guides you in how to write a great thesis statement and how to organize and outline the structure of your essay.

3. Continue writing your thesis statement and outlining your essay. Then begin drafting your persuasive essay.

4. Summarizer: Name two-three things you learned about writing a convincing persuasive essay.
