Day 82: iPod Touch (Consumer Materials)

Objective: ASWBAT compare and contrast the features of consumer materials to gain meaning from documents.


Hard work pays off. English is hard work. You can do it!


Announcements:
  • Remember that it's your job to ask questions if you don't understand something.
  • Skills Assessment #6 is next Friday, January 20, 2012.

1. Track Mr. Herrera as he presents and models Features of Consumer Materials.

2. Complete the guided-independent practice with your small group and independently.

3. Engage in a class discussion of your findings. What are consumer materials? How can me gain meaning from these documents?

4. Give one, Get one: Fold your paper into 4 squares. In the middle, draw a square and inside it, define consumer materials. Then in the 4 squares, get a definition of each consumer material we discussed today, plus an illustration, from 4 of your teammates. Be sure to get their signature.
