Hard work pays off. English is hard work. You can do it.
Announcements:
- Skills Assessment #2 is this Thursday, November 3, 2011. You will be given a study guide today in class. The study guide is due on Monday.
- The construction of the haunted house will begin tomorrow. Volunteers will be accepted tomorrow, and students will be chosen to help on Monday. Please do not ask if you can help on Monday -- students will be chosen based on how much they display excellence and hard work in their classes.
- Friday we will be going on a field trip to CSULA to see Phantom of the Opera. Your homeroom teacher will decide if you can go or not based on how much you display excellence and hard work in your classes.
1. Today you will review concepts we have learned in ELA. To do this, open the ELA SA #2 Study Guide and begin working collaboratively with your small group. Once the document is finished online, begin completing the document on paper and paste it into your Brain on page 54.
- Log in to your GOOGLE account.
- Make a copy of the document (File > Make a Copy).
- Invite your table group teammates to the document (Share > Type in individual emails > Done).
- Join the document and begin working collaboratively ONLINE.
- Get a PAPER copy and fill it out. Then paste it onto page 54 of your Brain.
2. Look at the Criteria for Success for your Brain. Give yourself a grade for every page up from 13-54 where you have "met" the criteria. For example, if you look at a page and you have "met" all the criteria successfully, give yourself 1 point for that page. If a page does not meet the criteria, fix it so that it does. On page 54, give yourself the total points out of 42. For example, someone could have a total score of 40/42, meaning 42 pages have "met" the criteria and 2 did not meet the criteria.
