1. Complete the Do Now. Do your best as this will count as part of your classwork grade.
2. Today you will continue practicing how to figure out the meaning of unknown words in context. Track Mr. Herrera as he reviews Using Context Clues and review your Cornell notes on page 50 of your Brain. Then track Mr. Herrera as he models using context clues.
3. In your small group, work collaboratively ONLINE to complete Context Clues Part III chart. Then, fill out the sheet on PAPER and paste it on to page 53 of your Brain. Follow these steps to get started:
- Log in to your GOOGLE account.
- Make a copy of the document (File > Make a Copy).
- Invite your table group teammates to the document (Share > Type in individual emails > Done).
- Join the document and begin working collaboratively ONLINE.
- Get a PAPER copy and fill it out. Then paste it onto page 53 of your Brain.
4. Quickwrite: Read the following quote and tell what you think the word in capitals means and what strategy you used to figure it out.
