- Gmail chatting and/or emailing anyone other than Mr. Herrera is strictly forbidden. There will be serious consequences for breaking this rule.
- The Word Bank Challenge will begin again on Monday, November 14, 2011.
- You are in control of your own grade in this class and your own destiny. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're not in control. Make the best choices you can make, always.
- Today you will be working independently. If you don't understand something, it's your job to ask questions.

1. Review the STAR Reading Pretest Instructions. When Mr. Herrera gives you the cue, begin the STAR Reading Test.
2. Open the document Writing Planner: The Crucible. Read the criteria for success carefully. Then complete the Introduction Writing Chart and Say Mean Matter Chart. This will help you prepare to write your essay this weekend. Your completed 5-paragraph essay is due Monday, November 14, 2011.
