Grade yesterday's classwork by checking the correct responses.
1. Complete the Do Now. How is today's image related to our lesson title? Why is it important to summarize accurately? Write down your response in the Do Now.
2. Track Mr. Herrera as he models how to accurately compare a summary to the original. Use the graphic organizer and the Time For Kids timeline of the African American experience.
3. Work with your small group to compare an original to a summary.
4. By yourself, compare an original to a summary. Then submit your classwork here.
5. Complete the Daily Assessment.
6. Remember to give Mr. Herrera a new piece of student work you are proud of to put on the Student Work Wall.
