- Skills Assessment #4 is next Thursday, December 15, 2011 and it will be your opportunity to continue to master or make up the following standards: RW 1.2, RC 2.2, RC 2.3, RC 2.4, and RL 3.2. If the standard you have not mastered is not on this list, talk to Mr. Herrera about how to make it up outside of regular class time.
1. Today you will complete a crossword puzzle for the content vocabulary we have used in ELA. Take a look at Mr. Herrera's example first (Your example will include ALL of the terms). Your crossword must include the following words: proposition, support, bias, objective, limited, broad, main-idea, compare, contrast, descriptive, sequence, critical-detail, summary.
2. Now create your own! Follow these simple directions to create your crossword puzzle:

- Title: Should be "ELA Content Vocabulary Crossword"
- Author's Name: Write YOUR name (First and Last)
- Description: This is up to you...
- Scroll down and enter each word and a definition.
- NOTE: Your definition should NOT include the word itself (i.e. Proposition - a claim or proposition -- Don't give it away!)
- Once you're done entering your words, click "Make Puzzle"
3. Take a screenshot of your crossword and email it to dannyjherrera@gmail.com. Follow these directions to learn how:
Once you get to your email, attach the document. That's it! It's as simple as that!
4. Complete personal reading for 30 minutes and write a 3/4-1 page summary of what you read on a clean sheet of paper. This is due by the end of the day TODAY.
